Best Day Ever!

On Thursday July 30, 2009 passengers on the fixed route system serving La Grande and Island City obliterated the previous mark for best day of volume ever.

306 boardings were recorded in a single day (18% above the previous high water mark of 250 recorded on January 22, 2008).

Prior to July 30, 250 rides in a single day had been the longest standing volume record in the agency at slightly over 18 months. This time at the top constitutes almost three times the average reign of a fixed route volume record.

Prior to the introduction of a fixed route system, public transit produced an average of 311 rides per week. The new record was only five rides short of legendary status in the agency.
